Award Winning Wedding Planner

The Wedding Industry Awards - Wedding Planner of the Year

I'm delighted to announce that last month I was awarded Independent Wedding Planner of the Year (South Central region) at The Wedding Industry Awards 2018. These are the only awards I enter, primarily because they are the only ones based on client reviews as well as the judge's assessment. I'm so thankful to every single one of my 2017 couples who took the time to submit reviews to the organisers. I've been managing events for 16 years now and knowing that I'm still delighting my couples means so much to me. As the awards compere said, over the period of planning a wedding, a planner really gets to know her couples and a strong friendship often develops. This meant that, apparently, the wedding planner category had some of the strongest reviews of any category.  Here are two such examples: "From the moment we met with Caroline, we knew our wedding was in the best hands. Not...

Real London Wedding in The Amadeus Centre

I’m so excited to be able to share this wedding with you! I’ve been talking about it since the big day itself in August, as I expect the guests have been. It’s great to be able to show you all about this real London wedding in The Amadeus Centre wedding which so perfectly reflected Stacy and Alastair’s unique love. Enjoy! I first fell in love with Stacy when I heard the story of how they met. Stacy was on a blind date with another chap. Bored out of her mind, she noticed a tall, dark, handsome stranger at the bar. So, whilst nodding politely at her date, she kept an eye on her ideal man and, as he made a move to leave, she made a dash and slipped him her number. I love a girl who knows what she wants! Before getting in to the pictures I should start by putting...

Top Tips For Choosing Your Wedding Reception Table Centrepieces

With guests spending a majority of their time at their tables, couples often place great importance on their table centrepieces. Whether you want simplistic minimalism or indulgent extravagance your wedding planner and florist will be able to help you choose the perfect centrepiece for your wedding. However, there are a few top tips to consider… Guest Numbers & Budget Once you’ve decided how many guests you're having at your wedding you will then have a better idea of how many table centrepieces you’ll need. Consider that most round tables seat between 8 and 10 guests, with some venues having slightly larger tables for up to 12 guests. Rectangular and square tables will be completely venue dependant. In addition you may want different displays on your top table, maybe lower ones so as not to obstruct your view of your guests and their view of you. Colours Not all colour schemes are easy to carry through...

Real Wedding: Thames Rowing Club, London

I was delighted to be asked to plan Cathy and Malcolm's London wedding at All Saints Church in Fulham followed by their reception at the Thames Rowing Club in Putney. Cathy is hugely experienced in managing corporate events, but she got in touch after she realised she'd struggle to manage her wedding as well as a demanding day job. Their day was full of smiles and love, both between Cathy and Malcolm and their lovely guests, many of whom had flown over from the USA especially for the occasion. Photographer for the day was the delightful Fiona Kelly, who, was not only great at getting the couple to relax in front of the camera, but was also incredibly professional and super friendly, whilst still being able to get the shots she needed. I would recommend Fiona to everyone! Thank you also to Fiona for letting me share her beautiful images. Cathy prepared for her big day at a lovely Air BnB down the road...

How To Prepare For Your Wedding Planning Consultation

You’ve decided you’ll need some help planning your wedding and contacted a couple of planners to start the ball rolling. After the initial contact, often by email, your planner is likely to want to have a call or Skype meeting with you, and if you’re considering full planning then they are likely to want to meet face-to-face. This is such an important stage, primarily as it gives you both an opportunity to see if you're right for each other. When I say “right” I don’t mean the basic tick list of availability, price etc, I mean do you actually like each other?! You could be working with this person for 18 months, plus they’ll be with you on your wedding day, so it’s really important that you like them, trust them and feel a certain level of connection or understanding between you. However, during this meeting your planner will also...

How To Create Your Wedding Budget

When I get an enquiry from a couple for full planning of their wedding one of the very first tasks I undertake is to create a wedding budget. I’m often surprised by how many of my partial planning and wedding day management clients haven’t produced a budget and only have a rough idea of what their wedding is costing them. This comes with two problems; firstly, it means that the overall cost often spirals as they only initially consider the big things such as the venue and maybe the photographer, and secondly, it means they often haven’t fully thought through their priorities, the financial implications of these and where they may have to compromise in other areas in order to achieve them. I know it might seem like a very unromantic task for such a romantic day, but I can’t stress enough the importance of getting your budget down on...
